Northallerton Automobile Club Ltd is sad to learn of the untimely death of Chris Blake yesterday.
Chris was an active member of the Club for many years and his family's company Northallerton Tyre & Battery
He helped many of the club's competitors over the years.
Our deepest condolences go out to his father, Ken Blake, sister Caroline and Brother-in-law Donald, plus his many friends,drivers, co-drivers, and mechanics who enjoyed his company.
Chris was a prolific rally driver who enjoyed the preparing and running of his cars as much as driving them. Over the years he had enjoyed his many and varied cars, from Avenger Tiger, Talbot Sunbeam in 1600 and ex-works Lotus specification, Toyota Corolla, Ford Escort Cosworth, Lancia Integrale, and more recently his historic Mk1 and 2 Ford Escorts.
Chris competed at all levels and also enjoyed servicing for others as much as driving. He will be sadly missed.
Chris's funeral is to be held on Friday 21st June at Thornton le Street, between Northallerton and Thirsk. Full details to follow.
